The connection is made by 2 coupling interlocked by the 4 upright jaws. To create the connection, at least one of the coupling must be equipped with an adjustable clamping ring (locking), which locks the jaws by twisting. Only the coupling with the lock is equipped with a soft seal.
It can be fastened by hand, but it is also possible to use a tricoise wrench.

The hose tail units are offered with a standard serrated tail for fitting onto rubber hose and it have a lock and soft seal to be connected to any other symetrique connector.
